Diving Expeditions

In order to spread environmental awareness we often bring our members to diving expeditions where disasters like coral bleaching can be seen from up close.

Being based in South Florida definitely has its advantages, home to the best diving spots in the Americas, we always find ourselves exploring the water and its ecosystem.

While fun and beautiful, we sadly find ourselves swimming through trash and a whole lot of plastic. Not only that but it is easy to see from up close a process called coral bleaching.

A half bleached coral observed by our team during a diving expedition at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

What is Coral Bleaching?

When corals are stressed by changes in conditions such as temperature, light, or nutrients, they expel the symbiotic algae living in their tissues, causing them to turn completely white.
